Sack of Flour

Sack of Flour.  No, seriously, that's the name of this game.  This is a home-brewed ROM with an interesting premise; you, as a sack of flour, must escape a farm before  you are baked to death.  Don't believe me?  Check the box art:

I'll give 'em credit for trying something new, at least

As you can see from the above screenshot, the game plays somewhat similarly to Super Mario Brothers; you jump on enemies' heads to defeat them, and collect powerups from question-mark blocks.  The controls are somewhat awkward, though; bouncing off of an enemy causes you to drift slowly into the air, then float back down at the same speed.  There doesn't seem to be a set pattern for the enemies, either; they apparently just drop out of the sky at random intervals.

Perhaps the most awkward part of Sack of Flour, though, are the "alternate dimension" blocks.  In the "daytime" area, you can walk on certain blocks but not others, and it is just the opposite in the "nighttime."  At times it can be difficult to tell which are solid and which are not, as both are clearly visible in both dimensions.

And that's about all there is to tell.  At present, it's a playable game, though there is little to set it apart from other games on the console.  I hope that this game continues to be worked on; it could become a respectable name in homebrew ROMs with a bit more work.
